Does not it make a difference when you are at home? Yes it does, even more when you are playing a professional sport and it does tend to make a big difference in our country cricket teams. Our teams when on tour where always used to pack up bad form along with them. Our teams were so bad that their record looks woeful. They have won only 2 of their 41 test matches they have played.
But on the turn of this millennium our teams have shown no inclination of continuing those traditions. You could attribute this improved record to some of the fantastic players we have had. Which includes one of the most feared batting lineups in the world. The members of this fantastic batting lineup who have scripted some of the best away wins of our history.
Apart from these batsmen we have had one of the best spinners in contemporary cricket. Anil has ably supported some of our young pacemen.
Some of our best wins have been special in the fact that our team has come back after a loss. To name some Perth, Nottingham, Adelaide, Johannesburg and recent one at Galle. The wins especially those at Lanka, England and down under will be ranked as some of the best this team has done. Indians did also manage to win a test series at Caribbean and England which would make any team proud.
These things will be only ranked after a series down under which we dominated and shared the honours who were the No. 1 team in the planet.
If we analyse these wins we could find that some of these grounds were considered to be bastion of those teams especially Perth and Galle where our team was considered an underdog. It would take fine talent, excellent mental strength and belief in their ability to win in such situations which seems to be in abundance in this team.
There are all some qualities which could be characterised to our team of this decade like playing their natural game playing fearlessly and fight till the last. This is new India where people think differently and they know they could be the best in the world. This new found confidence has helped our team India and our country as a whole in our march towards the goal of global superpower.
